The Clyde's Restaurant Group is one amazing organization that includes one of the most successful restaurants in the world in the Old Ebbitt Grill near the White House. They have a litany of restaurants all over the D.C. area, and quite possibly, 1789 (a fine dining establishment) might be their leading success story. 1789 was opened way back in 1962 and with its charming Georgetown historic country inn presentation, this spot has developed into a Washington, DC classic. Chef Daniel Giusti is in the kitchen doing his daily contemporary seasonal menu while working directly with a bevy of local farmers to keep 1789 consistently great. It helps to be joined by a superb pastry chef in Travis Olsen, and everything about this restaurant (including their wine program) keeps 1789 on the radar screens (including the likes of 22 Spots).
